【Yokohama】START’s ginger ramen was too good

Hello, I’m a mom blogger with three children living in Yokohama.
I want to save money, but I also want to enjoy a relaxing meal out every once in a while…
Recently, I’ve been into going around ramen shops that are great value for money and highly satisfying.
This time, I went to “Start” a popular ramen shop located right next to Hoshikawa Station, to try their ginger ramen!

What kind of shop is Hoshitara? Access & impression of the exterior
The shop is about a 2-3 minute walk from “Hoshikawa Station” on the Sotetsu Line.
As soon as you exit the ticket gate and enter a quiet residential area, you’ll find “Start.”
The exterior is simple, but the black lettering on a white background makes it stand out.
You can see the counter seats through the glass door, so it’s easy for women to enter alone.
I arrived around 1:30pm to avoid the lunch rush, but there were a few customers ahead of me and it seemed like many of them were regulars.
I ordered “ginger ramen”! What does it taste like?
Of course, my goal this time was “ginger ramen (900 yen)”.
In the cold season, ramen with ginger that warms the body is really nice.
Soup
First, I took a sip of the soup.
…Ah, it’s so good!
The aroma of ginger rises softly from the soup, warming you from the inside out.
But the ginger flavor is not too strong, and it has a gentle taste.
I even thought, “I could share it with my kids.”
Noodles
The noodles are medium-thick and straight.
They are smooth and chewy when you bite into them. They go well with the soup.
After all, delicious noodles are a joy to eat .
Toppings
The pork slices are thick and soft, and the flavor oozes out with every bite.
The seasoned egg is soft and half-cooked, with just the right amount of salt.
The aroma of green onions and ginger keeps you from getting bored of the soup until the very end.

There are about 10 seats at the counter inside the store.
It’s simple but clean, so women won’t feel uncomfortable at all even if they’re alone.

The menu has a wide lineup of attractive dishes, including “soy sauce ramen,” “salt ramen,” and “ginger ramen.”
The salt ramen that the person next to me ordered also looked very delicious, so I might try that next time.
You can also add toppings, so even dads with big appetites will be very satisfied.
