Nagaoka Shokudo in Yokohama Station

In Japan, soy sauce ramen and tonkotsu ramen are famous, but there are not many ramen that use ginger.
At Nagaoka Shokudo in Yokohama Station, you can enjoy a unique ramen called “ginger soy sauce ramen” that originated in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
Nagaoka Shokudo is located next to “Hamaball”, a little away from the hustle and bustle of Yokohama Station. It features a simple yet warm exterior.

I was able to enter without lining up around 11am on a weekday.
The system is that you purchase a ticket inside the store first and then line up.
The ticket machine displays soy sauce ramen, salt ramen, and types of toppings, so you can choose according to your preference. The store has counter seats and table seats, and the atmosphere is casual for both singles and groups. The staff are friendly, so you can order with confidence even if it’s your first time at the store.
I ordered a small bowl of rice and soy sauce ramen with green onions as a topping. The price is 1,100 yen.

The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles, which go perfectly with the soup. The toppings are tender pork fillets, crisp bamboo shoots, spinach, naruto, and nori seaweed, making it visually gorgeous.
The soup is made from pork and chicken carcasses with a large amount of ginger added, and the taste of soy sauce and the aroma of ginger are in perfect harmony. However, for me, the taste was quite strong.
Table condiments include white pepper and ginger. I always add plenty of ginger towards the end to enjoy a change of flavor. The soup with the crunchy, finely chopped ginger is irresistibly delicious!

Nagaoka Shokudo is a ramen shop loved by many people for its delicious ginger soy sauce ramen and warm atmosphere. Please visit once and experience its charm.
